Retro Vibes

Hello fabulous readers! I had anticipated posting this the other day but I've been a bit under the weather lately. While I'm feeling slightly better, I still have the case of the yuckies... Anyhoo, we've had snow around here the past few days and I've been eager to get out and take some photos in it. I love how the snow makes everything beautiful and bright. The down side, it get's dark very early! Being so close to the mountains means we get shaded pretty quickly and around 4 - 4:30 if I don't have photos taken they're usually too blue or dark to salvage. Did I mention I'm NOT a morning person? My husband works nights so I keep weird hours, my babysitting job also has me up extremely late. The sun going down early is a great challenge especially when I have to be dressed and out before sunset. If you happen to be a night owl and find yourself in need of someone to chat with, look me up! I'm almost always up till at least 3am (MST). I know, I really need to work on that.
As for this delightful dress, this was one of my splurge purchases from Black Friday. It got mixed reviews and I'm relieved I decided to give it a try. The material is thick and stretchy. It's fully lined and made being outside, in a dress, pretty tolerable. The belt like any belt that comes with an outfit is a complete waste. I'll be replacing it with the Foxy Moxie Belt in Cognac that I just ordered. It's an elastic belt and I LOVE elastic belts. It makes sitting so much more comfortable! Do you have a belt preference? I personally wish there were more elastic belts sold in stores. I try to snag up every one I see. But I also don't wear jeans so it's need to hold up anything is not what I look for.
Can I take a minute to just say how much I love this bow?! A while back I was planning a giveaway with Eileen from Apricity. While her dress alone would have been awesome to win I wanted to make it bigger. I contacted few people and one of those lovely ladies was Lisa from Color Theory. She was happy to join! It turned out that she had planned on contacting me anyways to model one of her bows, I just beat her to it! Her bows are handmade from vintage fabrics. It was soooo hard picking just two, I wanted them all! She makes them with a pin or clip attached. I opted for a pin so I would get more use out of it, not all of my dresses have a collar. If you haven't already, go to my instagram and enter my contest! Lisa has generously included one of her bows.
Well this is just a quick post today. I have some exciting news to share with all of you but for now, I'm keeping it under wraps. More on that later! Also I'd love to hear from you. Are there subjects you'd like to discuss? I've had a few people interested about my journey into healthier eating and my quest to becoming somewhere between vegetarian and vegan. Till then...
Take Care & Enjoy,
♥ Heather
